Back in the Saddle Again
Proverb 8: 35
For one who finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.
How much is there to write about this verse? Isn’t it pretty self-explanatory? The backstory is that in my prayers last week, God raised this idea of favor with me. Now, in truth, I have not been walking in as much favor as I once did and I needed to know why. The truth is, though it is no excuse, when I broke my wrist a lot of my life fell apart, including my prayer and study time. That is not to say that I abandoned God, not at all, but I found life very challenging for a while and did not get down to my desk where all my resources are as frequently as I was accustomed to. The reality is, it affected a lot about me, my peace, patience, tolerance, joy and the amount of favor I walked in.
Some people may think that God withheld His favor from me because I wasn’t doing as I am supposed to, but that was not the case. The problem was that I had moved myself out of His provision. He was still doing His part, but I was no longer positioning myself to receive all that He sent my way.
Our Lord is good, and he always leads us in the way we need to go. We just need to allow ourselves or even prepare ourselves to hear him. Whenever we seek Him, He is found, and in Him is favor and peace and every other good thing. Happily, God sent me a good word and a good friend both of which lifted me up. Now, He is sending me to you and anyone else who wants more of Jesus and his favor in their lives.
Sometimes when you get in a hole as deep as the one I found myself in, it can be quite difficult to get out. If that is you, don’t fret and don’t be alone. I offer coaching and believe me; I am now an expert at how to recover from falling off your horse (or bicycle in my case). If you are ready to get back in the saddle and think you could benefit from some assistance, reach out to me by clicking HERE. Then we will both be singing the famous song by Gene Autry, Back in the Saddle Again.
